The Villages were a well-deserved reward for Tom after decades of running a business. Gone were the flannel shirts, the 4 AM drive to worksites, constant bidding on future projects, and pouring over schematics and blueprints. Instead were short sleeves, golf cart drives to fun activities, teeing off for 18 holes, and enjoying the neighborhood and community to its fullest. In NJ, Tom could be counted on to do anything he could for family even after putting in a long hard week. He would spend hours to get the home and yard ready for a family reunion. He would devote weeks to making Christmas,Thanksgiving and Easter special for his extended family. He would make repairs, help build a home, renovate and give a hand to family and friends or St. Paul's school and Church just by asking if he could help. Whenever he collaborated on projects for our parents, for us or at his home, Rich would admire his abilities and devotion to getting the job done right. When Tom and Sandy moved to FL, most of the family joined them which shows the strength of their bond. That closeness will be the legacy he leaves. To Sandy, Bob, Abbie, Laura and the "grands," our heartfelt sympathy and prayers. As the new owner of the flannel shirts, Rich will never forget the brother-in-law who gave them to him and the wonderful reason why he didn't need them anymore.
