Bob, Steve, Doug, Ross and all of your loved one's. I am so sorry for the passing of Sandy. My heart aches for you all. Please know that Sandy and all of you and yours are in Margaret's and my thoughts and prayers and always will be. I am and will be forever blessed and grateful to have had Sandy in my life for so many years as my "second Mom." The very same goes for having you all as my "second family" ever since I arrived in South bend in 1974. So many blessed, happy, and wonderful memories. Hold onto to all of your terrific memories that you have all shared with Sandy throughout the years because they will truly last a lifetime. I know that I will. Sandy was simply a very fine, decent and beautiful woman in every way .. both inside and out .. and together with "Smitty" raised an outstanding family. This beautiful lady was a treasure for all of us. I was so proud to have called her my aunt. So many great memories at family picnics and when the Smith family would visit Pennsylvania in the summers or the holiday season. I will always smile and giggle when I think of Aunt Sandy lining the wheels of her boys- when needed. It was first and middle name when they were in trouble. However- she knew the first and middle names of her nephews and nieces as well- so we all towed the line! :) She instilled in all of us to have fun- but also be good to one another. She was always laughing and happy- what a gift.
We loved being around her. She was giving of her love and kindness to many.

To Uncle Bob, Steve, Doug and Ross- we are sorry for your tremendous loss- but we also rejoice in knowing that she's now with our great creator. We will be praying for peace and comfort to your family.

Sandy was my close sister in law,, and always a very good friend too. She was a wonderful aunt to my children and grandchildren. We grew up in a small town in South Central Pennsylvania and we were in grade school together . I met her about 1950. Well before I met and later married one of her three big brothers. The family has been very saddened by her devastating illness but know that she is with our lord now.
