Reverend Wesley Harris' Obituary
Reverend Wesley H. Harris passed away on Friday, July 8, 2011 at the age of 81. He was born on October 27, 1929, in Capital Heights, MD to the late Charles and Margaret Harris. Wesley received his Bachelors degree from Furman College and then went on to the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary to receive his Master’s in Theology. From 1954 to 1990 he actively served the Lord and his congregations as a minister and helped establish many new churches. Upon retiring from active ministry he moved to the Lady Lake area where he made his home with his wife of 58 years, Bonnie W. Harris, who survives him along with their son Bruce H. (Christina) Harris of Grand Rapids, MI and a daughter Lori Ann (Ted) Kirkland of Clermont, FL. Wesley is also survived by four grandchildren; Sarah Ann Denton Long, Derrick Harris, Jessica Briel, and Candice Joelle Georgis, along with five great-grandchildren; Justin, Andrew, Matthew and Lucas Long, and Austin Marshall. He was preceded in death by one daughter Lucilyn Harris Denton. A funeral service will be held for Reverend Harris at the Tri-County Baptist Church in Lady Lake on Tuesday, July 12th at 11:00 a.m. Friends and family may call at the Page-Theus funeral home on Monday, July 11, 2011 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. and also at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services.
