Karl William White's Obituary
Karl William White, 80, Sorrento, Florida went to be with the Lord on September 5, 2016 at home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. White was born on December 5, 1935 in Waunetta, Kansas to his parents William James White and Celta Lorene (Ward) White. Mr. White and his late wife Loretta moved to the area in 1981 from Apopka, Florida. He was of the Baptist faith and was a member of The Bay Street Baptist Church in Umatilla. Mr. White was a retired Electrical Engineer for General Electric working at NASA on the Apollo Space Program for 20 years. He then started a second career purchasing a commercial poultry farm producing eggs for commercial distribution and then starting a nursery business in Sorrento called “L & K Plants”. He was a graduate from Wichita State University with his Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering. He liked to work on carpentry projects and had built his own home. He always liked to work hard in whatever tasks he took on. He is survived by his loving children: Cindy (Donnie) Chandler of Sorrento, FL, Kevin White of Lake Mary, FL and Keli White of Sorrento, FL; Candy Flores and Stacy Burke; four Grandchildren: Jennifer (David) Durden, Deanna (Tony) Lewis, Daniel Flores and Ashley Flores; four great-grandchildren: Dillon, Carly, Ashton and Gabriel.
