Jean Stephenson's Obituary
Jean Stephenson, 82, Leesburg, Florida passed away on November 12, 2022 at U. F. Healthcare Leesburg Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Jean lived most of her life in the Chicago area and after her retirement was a snowbird, going between the state of Michigan and Florida, before becoming a full-time Florida resident in 2015.
Jean was very involved in her community and was a member of Classy Ladies of Hawthorne, Hawthorne Boat Club, and a Hawthorne Softball Score Keeper.
Jean was the most genuine person to ever grace this world. She always welcomed everyone in with kindness and open arms. Her love for her family and friends knew no bounds. She was the definition of true unconditional love. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and good friend to many. She carried herself with quiet strength and was always the brightest smile in the room. She taught all of those around her to shine by viewing life with never-ending positivity. She would tell us it might take a while, but she would get there. She was one of life’s greatest blessings and will be dearly missed.
She leaves behind her husband, Thomas Stephenson, whom she was married to for 64 years.
She was preceded by her parents, Phillip and Catherine Burnett, her sister Janet Dehler, and her sons Thomas and Timothy Stephenson.
She is survived by her daughter Kimberly Stephenson and her spouse, Jaye Nichols; her step-son Thomas Grabowski and his wife, Angela Grabowski; her daughters-in-law Angela Stephenson (Timothy) and Sherry Stephenson (Thomas); her grandchildren Laura (James), Tara and her husband Matt, Timothy, Holly, and Cameron. Her 6 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, and her brothers Phil and Steve Burnett.
There will be internment at the Bushnell Florida National Cemetery on Friday, December 16, 2022, at 2:00 pm and a celebration of life afterward at Hawthorne at Leesburg. (location for Celebration of Life Service to be confirmed, please follow back on website to confirm correct location).
