Dorothy Joanne Linn's Obituary
Dorothy Joanne Linn, 88, Leesburg, Florida passed peacefully on May 18, 2018 at Mike Conley Hospice House, Clermont, FL in the company of her husband. Dorothy was born on May 4, 1930 in Kansas City, Missouri to her parents Dewey Ross Phillips and Irene (Bradley) Phillips. She had worked as a Secretary at Lake Silver Elementary School in Orlando, Florida for over 15 years. She was an accomplished baker known as “Two Pie” because just one pie wouldn’t do. Dorothy initiated a monthly cooking club and enjoyed playing cards with a wide circle of friends in Leesburg and Orlando for over 50 years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband on cruises and with the Apollo RV club, visiting 49 states and Canada. Dorothy often wrote poetry and was an accomplished story teller with a tremendous sense of humor. She also loved shopping and was thrilled with finding a bargain. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years: Herbert Wayne Linn of Leesburg, FL; a daughter: Denise Picard of Winter Garden, FL; a son: Chris Linn of New York City, NY; a brother: Donald Phillips of Broken Arrow, OK; two grandchildren: Jessica and Scott Picard. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 1:00PM at Page-Theus Funeral Home Chapel, Leesburg, Florida. The Linn family would like to extend their gratitude to Cornerstone Hospice and Palliative Care Center.
