Byron Kenneth Overbeck, Jr., 82, Leesburg, FL went to be with the Lord on October 1, 2012 in Tavares, Florida. Mr. Overbeck was retired Lieutenant Commander from the U.S. Navy in which he proudly served. He moved to Leesburg from Read Obituary
The USS Rankin Association just learned of Ken's death today. We will read his name at the Memorial Service at our reunion in Harrisburg, PA this September.
We are sorry to hear about Ken. I haven't heard from him for a bit, but thought he was busy with his family. I served in the Navy with Ken aboard the USS Tidewater. Ken was the Repair Officer and prefromed his duties with the highest degree of profesionalisim. He was a quiet fellow, but always on top of work load and always helpful to me. I enjoyed reconnecting with Ken when he joined the Tidewater Association.
