Beverly, cousins are special, and you were one of a kind. I will always remember the too few times I enjoyed the pleasure of your company, with Nana, and especially your Aunt Milly, my mom. -- A visit from you just lit up Mom's world! You were always so easy to talk to, and you possessed the remarkable quality of making us laugh, so hard, all the while, maintaining such a serious face. I can't help but smile on the inside, remembering this extra special gift that is part of the legacy you are leaving behind. I remember so much, beginning from when I was an extremely over-active toddler and my cousin, Bev, used to cradle my head and count the bumps thereon. At that time, I referred to her as "Bevy-Gail", probably not differentiating between her and her sister. During the ensuing years, I remember spending many Thanksgivings and some Christmases at Nana's with her and her family. I also had a few summertime adventures with her when she lived in Rye. After she got married, my family and I spent a few memorable days in NYC with her and Charlie. Then, many years passed, and we were not able to re-connect until a few years ago, at her house in Leesburg. I must say that during all those years that I knew and loved her, she changed so very little. She always had a quick wit and great sense of humor, she was always uber-organized and a hostess-with-the-mostess, and she was always so gracious and accommodating. Aging did nothing to her ready smile and her "laughing eyes". In fact, the only real change that I ever noticed was her strong Long Island accent -- and I found that strangely endearing!
Bev, you'll be missed, but never forgotten! Love, Brett & Jan

My dear cousin Beverly, I will always remember your loving generosity and low key sense of humor that was always comforting. I did not see you enough but my memories are precious. Thanksgiving at Nana's house. Thanksgiving at your house in Long Island ,at a particularly vulnerable time in my life. You and Charlie coming north to see us at Chickwolnepy in NH (and risking your life in riding with me in Grampa Percy's Model A). You and Charlie visiting me and the kids during that same vulnerable time . You and Charlie coming to our wedding and celebrating with us making it truly a memorable family affair. Thank you. Bev was a one-of-a-kind treasure to have as a friend and neighbor. She was always upbeat and especially courageous during her long illness.
