Arthur Harry Jaehing Jr.'s Obituary
Arthur Harry Jaehing, Jr, 90, Leesburg, FL went to be with the Lord on April 9, 2015 in Leesburg, FL. Art was born on June 23, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York to his parents Arthur H. Jaehing, Sr. and Henrietta Jaehing. He received his Bachelors of Engineering at Purdue University and a Master’s degree at University of Connecticut. Mr. Jaehing had worked for Pratt & Whitney for over 30 years. He moved to Leesburg from Homosassa, Florida. Mr. Jaehing was a Veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army Air Force in Indo China flying P-38’s against the Japanese. He was very proud of his service and attended gathering of those who fought and survived that campaign. He was active with the Kiwanis and held many senior leadership positions in the state of Florida. He also was a volunteer with The Homosassa Springs State Park for over 20 years piloting boats within the park. He enjoyed playing tennis and golf and later moved to Lake Port Square with his wife Helen He enjoyed singing in the Chorale group and performing on stage. He is survived by his loving children: Robin A. (Dr. Leonard) Orban of Homosassa, FL and P. Andrew (Brenda) Jaehing of South Carolina; two grandchildren: A. Sterling (Allison) Cole of Massachusetts and Dorianna E. Jaehing of South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Helen. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 4:00PM at Lakeport Square, Leesburg, Florida in the West Lobby. Burial to follow on Tuesday, April 14, 2015 at 1:00PM at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida with Military Honors. Services have been entrusted to Page-Theus Funeral Home, Leesburg, FL.
