William Daniel Malfe's Obituary
William Daniel Malfe, 70, The Villages, Florida passed away on February 18, 2018, surrounded by his loving Family at his residence under the care of Cornerstone Hospice. Billy was born on August, 6, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio to his parents James and Rayma (Burgess) Malfe. He graduated from Central High School in Columbus, Ohio in 1966. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran who served in the U.S. Army 9th Infantry Division with Valor and received two purple hearts and a bronze star for his gallantry. Billy was a Bulk Mail Courier with the U.S. Postal Service where he worked for over 30 years. Billy moved to The Villages from Pompano Beach, Florida 11 years ago where he enjoyed playing golf, bowling, bocce and playing poker. He was of the Catholic faith and attended St. Timothy Catholic Church of The Villages. Billy was a proud member of the the American Legion Post #142 of Pompano Beach, Florida. He was also a member of the Old Friends of The Villages Golf Club. Billy is survived by his loving Mother, Rayma of Pompano Beach, FL; sisters: Sandra Malfe of Pompano Beach, FL and Raemali King of Deerfield Beach, FL; brothers: James Malfe, Jr., Tom Malfe both of Pompano Beach, FL and John (Melanie) Malfe of Clermont, FL; his significant other: Jeanne Behymer of The Villages, FL; two nieces and a nephew; two great nieces and a great nephew and many dear friends as well as his two close companions Rambo and Rocky who he dearly loved. He was preceded in death by his father, James William Malfe. A Mass of Resurrection will be held on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 11:00AM at St. Timothy Catholic Church of The Villages, Florida with burial to follow on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 11:30AM at Pompano Beach Cemetery, Pompano Beach, Florida. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to The Wounded Warriors Project at P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517.
