Wayne D. Wicker's Obituary
Wayne D. Wicker, 74, Leesburg, Florida went to be with the Lord on May 17, 2019 at Leesburg Regional Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Wayne was born on January 8, 1945 in Ocala, Florida to his parents Melford and Beulah Wicker. He was a Lifelong resident of Leesburg, Florida and was a member of First United Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Fruitland Park, Florida. He was a Former Production Manager for The Leesburg Daily Commercial, where he had worked for over 60 years. Wayne had started his career delivering The Daily Commercial when he was 8 years old and worked his way up to Production Manager. He was a member of the Pistolettes Gun Club of Pennbrooke Fairways, where he served as a coach to other members. He was also known as the “Neighborhood Handyman” to all his neighbors. He enjoyed shooting with the Pistolettes and working in his yard keeping it beautiful. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years: Katie Wicker of Leesburg, FL; two sons: Wayne Wicker and his wife Wendy of Leesburg, FL and Rick Wicker and his wife Kim of Minneola, FL; a daughter: Melisa Franklin and her husband Beau of Leesburg, FL; seven grandchildren: Kayla, Josh, Jacob, Hailey, Madilyn, Colton and Avery and several loving nieces and nephews. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, May 29, 2019 at 11:00AM at Pennbrooke Fairways at The Grand Hall with Pastor Kenneth Wells Officiating. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations may be made to First United Pentecostal Church in Fruitland Park, Florida at 107 College Ave. Fruitland Park, FL 34731 in Wayne’s loving memory.
