Wayne Alan Sly's Obituary
Wayne Alan Sly age 64 passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2015 at The Villages Hospice House in The Villages, Florida. Wayne grew up in LaGrange Highlands, Illinois and moved to The Villages in 2014 from Normal, Illinois. He was a U. S. Navy Vietnam veteran where he was a submarine reactor operator on the Archerfish. Wayne spent his 33 year career working in the nuclear power industry for Exelon’s Clinton Power Station where he was one of the original Cold License SRO's and then later went on to oversee outage planning and implementation. Wayne was known for his quick wit and generous heart, but most of all for his love of family. He loved sports and games, and was happiest when he was boating, golfing, bowling, and playing baseball, pool or darts. Children adored him, and he them. Wayne was a member of The Villages Parrot Head Club and the American Legion.
Survivors include his loving wife of 21 years Debbie; Son- Matthew (Kate) Sly of Champaign, Illinois; Sister– Sandy (Steve) Hamman of Carthage, Illinois; and grandchildren Darwyn and Ramona. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Robert and Lou Sly, and his sister - Jennifer (Richard) Cummings.
