Walter Lastition's Obituary
Walter Lastition, 97 of Leesburg passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021.
Born April 29, 1924 in Austinburg, OH the son of the late William and Anna (Duchniak) Lastition.
Walter grew up in a farming family and is an alumni of Austinburg High School. He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. Walter spent his adult life as an entrepreneur. He was the developer and original owner of the Skyway Drive (1949) in Warren, OH. Walter owned and operated a Travel Lodge along with the VIP Lounge and Steakhouse in Lake Park, FL in the 1970’s. Walter moved to Leesburg, FL in the 1980’s and developed Royal Oak Estates in Leesburg, FL.
He is survived by many people who loved him: His wife, Linda, son Gary Lastition and wife Valerie, son Michael Welsh and wife Elaine, daughter Janet Allen and partner Donovan Walker, and stepsons Jeff Adkins and Chris Adkins. He is also survived by his grandchildren Brittany Lastition, Gavin Welsh, Alison Pomeroy, and Angela Russell, and step-grandchildren Hunter Adkins, Austin Adkins, Mark Adkins, Karen Adkins, he was blessed with many wonderful great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, Emil, Stanley, Joseph, and sister MaryAnn.
Services will be held at Page-Theus Funeral Home in Leesburg, FL on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. Friends will be received at Noon and the service will begin at 1pm. Burial will be held at 2:30pm at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
