W. Glenn Bowron's Obituary
W. Glenn Bowron, 94, of Mt. Dora, formerly from Hawthorne of Leesburg, passed away September 8, 2019 in Mt. Dora. W. Glenn was born on September 14, 1924 in Birmingham, Alabama to Harold and Frances (Glenn) Bowron. W. Glenn married Beverly Nielsen in 1997.
W. Glenn proudly served his country during WW II, in the United States Coast Guard. W. Glenn was of the Methodist faith, and very active in his communities. W. Glenn was a Mason, served in the Lion’s Club, Optimist Club, and was a very proud member of the Sons of the American Revolution. W. Glenn was an Inn Keeper in the Hotel Industry until his retirement in 1995.
W. Glenn is survived by his wife, Beverly, son Walter Glenn Jr (Nancy) Bowron of Nashville, Tennessee; son Warren Belser (Rhonda) Bowron of Enterprise, Alabama; step-daughter Linda (Evans) Bostick of Tampa, Florida; step-son Tom (Teri) Slider of Brooksville, Florida; step-son Rick (Kelly) Slider of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; step-daughter Diane (Jim) Purnell of Ft. Pierce, Florida; step-daughter Carol (Gene) McDonald of Holt, Florida; step-daughter Nancy (Gary) Hovenden of Mesquite, Texas. And seventeen grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
W. Glenn is preceded in death by his first two wives, Nancy who passed in 1991 and Betty who passed in 1995, step-son William Lowe, and brother Harold A. Bowron Jr.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Masons or your charity of choice in Walter Glenn Bowron’s name.
There will be a memorial service on Friday, September 13, at 10:30 AM at the Garden of Life Fellowship Hall, Waterman Village, Mt. Dora, Florida
