Victor Junior Ramsey's Obituary
Victor Junior Ramsey, beloved husband of Glenda Ramsey went home to the Lord on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at the age of 84. He was born on June 19, 1926 in St. Francesville, IL to the late Clyde and Florence Ramsey. Victor proudly served his country in the South Pacific with the U.S. Navy during WII, and was a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion. He made his home for many years in Hammond, IN where he was an electrician for Inland Steel, now Arcelore Mittal. While in Indiana he attended Christian Fellowship Church where he served as a Deacon and Sunday School Superintendent. Locally he attended First Baptist Church in Leesburg. Victor enjoyed fishing, and working with his hands, especially if it resulted in helping someone. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Glenda Ramsey of Leesburg, FL, two sisters-in-law; Jean Frederick and Betty Rominger both of Hammond, IN, a dear ‘adoptive’ daughter Joan (Harold) Beasley, and their daughter Amy (Sean) Hampton, and two grandchildren Landon and Aubrey all of Indianapolis, IN. He is also survived by a special cousin Robert Dining, and many nieces , nephews and too many friends to mention. He will surely be missed by family and friends. Sadly Victor was peceeded in death by his parents and two daughters Vicki Anne Ramsey and Sandra J. (Ramsey) Amerson. Funeral services for Mr. Ramsey will be held on Monday, July 19, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. in the Page-Theus Funeral Home with Rev. Gary Blanchard officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, July 18, 2010 in the funeral Home from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL with military honors. The family has suggested memorials in Victor’s honor may be directed toward First Baptist Church or the First Baptist Ministries. Page-Theus Funeral Home
