Thomas Frederick Stephenson III's Obituary
Tom Stephenson, 84, Leesburg, Florida passed away on September 30, 2024 at home.
Tom lived most of his life in the Chicago area and after his retirement was a snowbird, going between the state of Michigan and Florida, before becoming a full-time Florida resident.
Before retiring Tom was the director of corporate sales in the shipping industry. Tom loved his community and was heavily involved with Hawthorne softball, woodworking and the military club. After serving time in the Navy he developed an affinity for boating and spent much of his life on the water. Tom was a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many. He loved spending time with his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Jean Stephenson, to whom he was married to for 64 years and his sons Tom and Tim Stephenson. He is survived by his daughter Kim Stephenson and her spouse, Jaye Nichols; his son Tom Grabowski and his wife, Angela Grabowski; his daughters-in-law Angela Stephenson (Tim) and Sherry Stephenson (Tom); his grandchildren Laura (James), Tara and her husband Matt, TJ, Holly, and Cameron. His 6 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, and his sister Karen Myers and her husband Don.
There will be internment at the Bushnell Florida National Cemetery on Thursday November 7th at 10:00 am and a celebration of life afterward at the clubhouse at Hawthorne in Leesburg from 2:00 – 4:00 pm
