Dear Ruth, Martin, Marcus, Karla & Krista
I was so sorry to see Martin's post about your husband/father. I enjoyed my years at Lewis & Christen, Tom was always good to his employees. I'll never forget the L&C Christmas party at the old Club Olympia. After dinner Tom would walk around and talk with everyone. He paused after greeting me that night and spoke up so all could hear. He mentioned the fact that he and I both cared about a certain lady, as the room grew quiet he stated that lady was my mother. As you could imagine the room erupted in laughter and I got teased to no end about how or why I was hired. That was the first time I ever knew or heard that Tom and my mom knew each other at Valpo. Mom after I let her know of this even produced a picture of two very attractive young people dressed up at a formal dance or school event. Anyway, my heart goes out to all of you as you mourn the passing of your husband/father. I know the hurt and pain as next month it will be 10 years since my dad passed. Share the memories each and everyone of you have with each other. I bet you'll be surprised at some of the stories you hear thus revealing a little bit more about your husband/father to each other than you knew before. Let those memories and good times get you thru these difficult times. Thinking of you all and lifting you all up in prayer!
