Thomas Hetman, Jr.'s Obituary
Thomas Hetman Jr., 81, of Leesburg, FL, passed away at home on December 17 following a prolonged battle with cancer. Born on October 21, 1930 in Sylvania Ohio, he received a BS in engineering from the University of Michigan in 1952 and remained a lifetime fan of Michigan athletics. He served in the Air Force and attained the rank of staff sergeant, and worked as a mechanical engineer at Libbey Owens Ford in Toledo for 32 years. A devoted husband and father, he is survived by his wife of 52 years, the former Ginni Hower of Toledo, and children Jan (William) Bartoszek of Richmond, VA; Jay Hetman of Bowling Green, OH; Jon Hetman (Craig Bostick) of Boston, MA; Sarah Hetman of Leesburg, FL; and grandchildren Clay and Caitlin Bartoszek. He was an avid golfer and league bowler, and enjoyed sports, traveling, and the company of his family. Private services will be held, and contributions may be made to Cornerstone Hospice of Lake County.
