Thomas Edward England's Obituary
Thomas (Tom) Edward, 78, of Fruitland Park, FL passed way on Saturday, October 22, 2022, in Leesburg Florida. As he left this world and met his LORD, he was surrounded by his wife and family. He was born on October 2, 1944 in Greensboro, North Carolina to his beloved parents John Jay England and Joyce Theresa (Thomas) England who preceded him.
Thomas moved to Florida with his family in 1970 from New York.
while working for Decorating Den in Leesburg, Florida he met his wife Nancy who owned Rainbow Draperies. They were married in 1989 at the Lady Lake Church of God. They celebrated over 30 years of marriage together and were retired from their business in 2006. Tom then took a part time job at Harbor Hills Country Club in Lady Lake where he met a lot of friends.
Nancy's fondest memory of their marriage together was their trip to Israel where they were were baptized in the river of Jordan where JESUS was baptized. Tom was a deacon of the Lady Lake Assembly of God in Lady Lake, Florida.
He enjoyed fishing, bowling, and most sports, however his passion was being an avid Nascar Fan. He enjoyed collecting all types of Nascar memorabilia especially his favorite driver # 24 Jeff Gordon. His collection exists of over 300 1:24 model cars plus many other items. Many are amazed at his wall of cars!
Tom never met a stranger and will be remembered fondly for being a social butterfly and quite the jokester.
He will be missed by his family and friends who loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy England; his children: Debra Knowd, Ocala, FL, Pamela (David) Froom, Ocala, FL, Cherie West, Melbourne, FL, Jeff (Laura) Stephens, Leesburg, FL, Benjamin (Tina) Stephens, Phoenix, AZ; 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Donna Minier, Largo, FL, Leanne (Mike) Breault, Sebring, FL, a sister-in-law, Wanda (Rom) Holiman, Jacksonville, FL and a brother-in-law, James (Linda) LaRue, and many nieces and nephews; as well as his long term friend over 40 years, Billy Morgan, Palm Coast, Fl.
A Memorial Service to Celebrate Tom’s Life will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022, 11 a.m. at Lady Lake Church of God.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Tom’s memory can be made to The Wounded Warrior Project.
