Thomas A. Bargas' Obituary
Thomas A. Bargas, 92, Leesburg, FL passed away on September 25, 2018 under the loving care of family and staff of Sutton Homes in Mt. Dora, Florida. Thomas Bargas was born on May 17, 1926 in Joliet, Illinois to his parents Jose Isabel Guadalupe Vargas and Cenobia (Ortiz). He was a retired Tool and Die - Mechanical Devices Journeyman for General Motors with over 37 years of devoted service. He was of the Christian faith. He was a proud veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Navy in the Pacific Theatre. He moved to Leesburg in 1988 from Portage, Michigan. Thomas loved to play softball and had played for the Scottish Highlands Senior Men’s Softball team and was also on a traveling team which had played in many tournaments. He also enjoyed bowling and golf. He is survived by his loving children: Pamela D. Toler of Apopka, FL and Bruce F. (Helen) Bargas of Spring Hill, TN; two brothers: Samuel Bargas of Houston, TX and Boniface Bargas of Plainfield, IL; two grandchildren: Christopher L. (Lori) Bargas of Franklin, TN and Julia Redford of Spring Hill, TN; four great-grandchildren: Bryson Bargas of Spring Hill, TN, Zayden, Amari and Corwin Bargas of Franklin, TN as well as many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, three sisters and his beloved wife, LaVerne C. Bargas (Phillips). Graveside Funeral Service to be held on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 11:00AM at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. with Military Honors.
