Thelma Elaine Phillips' Obituary
Thelma Elaine Phillips of Leesburg, FL passed away Friday, September 13th , 2024.
Thelma was born in Kingston, Jamaica to her parents, "Jack" Aloysious Uriah Tucker and Doris May Stephen. Thelma was introduced to the Bible by her mother in late 50s and later made it the center of life by her Christian dedication in 1971. She fulfilled a lifelong dream of being be in the 'fulltime service'. She was able to accomplish that dream during the last 25 years of her life before getting ill. She thoroughly enjoyed working in the field with many of the friends. She especially enjoyed working during the summer months along with her sister Sis. Carmen Serman and niece Sis. Michelle Serman.
Thelma was also committed to getting an education to further her opportunities in life. She wanted to be a nurse. She discovered an opportunity to go to the United Kingdom to further her studies. She traveled to London for schooling and excelled in her studies into several advanced nursing degrees. After completing her studies, she would marry the love of her life, Hartley M. Phillips.
She wore many hats throughout her lifetime. Apart from being a devoted wife loving mother, she also dedicated her life to the full-time preaching of Jehovah's kingdom ruled by his son Jesus Christ. She also dabbled into starting and maintaining several successful businesses. She really enjoyed the top bridal and custom boutique for several years on Long Island New York.
She was well known for her love of travel. She traveled extensively to many different countries. She also had a fondness for shopping and really had a taste for antiquing. She had excellent taste!
Thelma is survived by her loving husband, Hartley Phillips, her son, Mark Phillips and her loving sister Carmen Sharmen and the daughers she never had, Michelle, Chaunte, Chanel and Alex Sherman.
