Sylvia Irene Hurst's Obituary
Sylvia Irene Hurst, of Leesburg, FL, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 15th, 2025.
Sylvia was born in Clairfield, TN to her parents, John and Rosa Ann (Bennett) Minton. In 1962, she and her family would move from Knoxville, TN to Leesburg, FL.
As a homemaker, Sylvia had a full-time job raising her 5 sons and taking care of the household. Outside the home, she was an avid hunter and fisherman, a skilled quilter, a gardener and loved canning home goods. As a Southern Baptist, she also served as a wonderful Christian who loved to help her friends and family.
Sylvia is survived by her sons, Homer Hurst, Michael Hurst, and Eugene Hurst; her grandchildren, Rohn, Johnny, Chris, Andy, Amy, Jessica, Michael, Kevin, Brian, Madelyn, Kary & Dawn; her siblings, Johnny, Elmer & Joan; as well as many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her sons, Johnny & Donald and husband, Johnny Hurst Sr.
