Susan (Krupnikoff) Azia “Sue”
Loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister
The Villages – Susan (Krupnikoff) Azia, longtime resident of Framingham, MA, died peacefully December 2, 2020, at her home in The Villages, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Mark S. Azia, with whom she celebrated 55 years of marriage on March 21st.
Born in Hartford, CT, November 27, 1943, a daughter of the late Leonore (Beresky) and Joseph Krupnikoff. She was a graduate of the University of Connecticut class of 1965
Sue spent many years preparing her clients taxes from her home in Framingham. A skill she had learned from working at the IRS. Prior to her move to Framingham, she taught first grade while Mark was stationed in Korea for the US Army.
Sue loved the warm weather, especially the beach, and was often found turning up the thermostat while she lived in the northeast. She had a knack for crafts, and especially loved knitting. She prided herself on making blankets for her six grandchildren. Upon moving to The Villages, Sue was often found taking a multitude of art classes including glass-blowing, painting and scrapbooking.
She was an avid member of the Democratic Party (sometimes unable to contain her opinion) and truly enjoyed her time at the Liberal Ladies luncheons. Sue was always first in line to make calls on behalf of her candidate and encouraged all to vote.
In addition to her husband Mark, Sue is survived by her two children and six grandchildren, Beth Carr of Menlo Park, CA, her children, Jack and Luke, and Holly Cowan and her husband, Michael of Acton, MA, their children, Connor, Cody, Catherine and Caroline. Her sister Roberta Hornberger and her husband William of Eastham, MA and their son Michael. Her sister-in-law Marcia Krupnikoff of Farmington, CT and her children, Henry and Michael. Her brother-in-law Jerome Azia and his children, Adam and Rebecca. Sue is preceded in death by her brother Gerald Krupnikoff.
Rabbi Zev Sonnerstein will be preforming a celebration of life via zoom on Thursday, December 10th at 10:45am. Please reach out to Temple Shalom for the link to Zoom.
