Shirley Jane Kaufman's Obituary
Shirley Jane Kaufman, 56, of Leesburg, FL, passed away on June 7th, 2021. Shirley was born on September 4th, 1964 in Folkston, Georgia, to the late Miyako (Goto) and Walter Hewett. She was born the same year as hurricane Dora, and had a temper of said hurricane if it came to that. She is the youngest of 4 siblings, and had adopted the nickname "Shirley Bird". Shirley was the kind of person that never knew a stranger in her life. She was loved by all that meet her. Once you meet her you had a friend for life. She would do anything for you. But never lie to her, that would change things real quick. She would say things like "move your chicken ass", when we would get ready to go yard selling. She would call it "yard hopping". If she had seen and looked at the price, she would say "Nah, I can get that at Goodwill for a lot cheaper", she was always looking for a deal. If she seen something odd or weird she would say "is this something you would want to be doing when Jesus comes back". She could read people like a book.
Shirley is survived by her loving husband Samuel; her sister Peggy Lord (Buddy), from South Carolina; her brother Clifford Hewett (Donna), from Kingsland, Georgia; a brother-in-law Larry Davis (Mary), that everyone calls Big Larry; and a host of many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews, and friends. Shirley is predeceased by her parents, and her sister Mary. Shirley's family will be accepting visitors at Page-Theus Funeral Home, on Friday June 18th, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Douglas Kaufman Jr will be officiating.
Arrangements are entrusted to Page-Theus Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Leesburg, FL.
