Sheila Barbara Whitman's Obituary
Sheila Barbara Whitman, 81, Groveland, Florida passed away on November 9, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Sheila was born on August 17, 1939 in Bronx, New York to her parents, Louis Sirkes and Helen (Welkes) Sirkes. She was the Office Manager of her husband’s private medical practice. Sheila and her husband moved to Groveland 23 years ago from Fort Myers, Florida. She was of the Jewish faith and a member of Congregation Sinai of Groveland, Florida. She was also a proud member of Hadassah. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years: William Whitman, MD of Groveland, FL; three daughters: Esta Levine of Largo, FL, Joy Whitman of Asheville, NC and Morisa Whitman of Asheville, NC; a son: Geoffrey Whitman of Groveland, FL; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews. Graveside Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 13, 2020 at 10:00AM at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Leesburg, Florida. Donations may be made to Congregation Sinai at 1200 W Broad St, Groveland, FL 34736 or the Leesburg Humane Society at 41250 Emeralda Island Rd, Leesburg, FL 34788.
