Seymour Seltzer's Obituary
Seymour ‘Cy’ Seltzer, 88, passed away on Thursday, Apr. 17, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on Jan. 14, 1926 in Detroit, MI to the late William and Rose Seltzer. Mr. Seltzer served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Cy spent his entire life working in the fashion business, both retail and wholesale. He had started out working for his father, and eventually ran the family business ‘Royal Clothes’, and later became a factory rep for many clothing retailers. Later he and his wife, Elaine opened a high fashion women’s clothing store called ‘Madelaines.’ Cy had always been athletic and played golf and tennis for many years. He had lived most of his life in the Detroit area, but moved to central Florida area last August to be with family. Cy is survived by three sons; Michael (Jill) Seltzer of Texas, Lee Seltzer, and Robb (Mindy) Seltzer of Florida. He is also survived by five grandchildren; Adam (Betsy) Seltzer, Jake Seltzer, David Seltzer, Lesley (Mark) Sassin, and Dani Seltzer. Cy is also survived by one great-grandson; Greyson Seltzer, and a sister Muriel (Alex) Cowan. Cy was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years; Elaine Seltzer, and a sister; Dolly Solomon. There will be a graveside service for Mr. Seltzer on Sunday, Apr.20th. at 12:30 pm in the Bethel Memorial Park of Livonia, MI.
