Saveria Henzi's Obituary
Saveria Henzi age 71 passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2016 in Leesburg, Florida. Saveria was born in Cosenza, Italy and moved with her family to the US at the age of 10. She moved to Leesburg, Florida area in 2007 (as a snowbird) from Mt. Prospect, Illinois, becoming an all-year resident in 2013. She attended St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Mt. Prospect, and retired from Dominic’s Finer Foods. Saveria was known by those close to her for her friendly outgoing personality. She took her friendships seriously and maintained dozens of friendships for her entire life. She was happiest on a dance floor and enjoyed ballroom and square dancing. She was a member of the Recreation Plantation Square Dance Club and a former member of the Flying Squares in Illinois. Her competitive spirit made her an avid game player and she enjoyed Mah Jongg, Pinochle, Phase 10, 500 Rummy, Scopa and other games. She especially enjoyed defeating her husband Alan in Scopa. She also enjoyed bowling with friends and preparing special dishes for her husband. She was predeceased by her son Victor.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 49 years – Alan; a son – James (Lauren) Henzi of Apex, NC; 3 brothers – Joseph Verre of Park Ridge, IL; Mario Verre of Niles, IL; and Costantino Vere of Chicago, IL; and 2 grandchildren – Kyle and Andrew.
The family will receive friends on Saturday September 3, 2016 from 5-6 P. M. at the Page-Theus Funeral Home Chapel in downtown Leesburg with a vigil service following immediately at 6:00 P. M. with Deacon Dana McCarthy serving as Officiant.
Interment will take place at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines, Illinois.
