Sarita Bennett Lapham's Obituary
Sarita Bennett Lapham, 96, Leesburg, Florida passed away on February 28, 2016 at Savanah Manor in Leesburg, Florida. Mrs. Lapham was born on October 28, 1919 in New Britain, Connecticut to her parents Ossian Sanford Bennett and Gertrude Sarita (Linke) Bennett. She was a former Promotions Manager for the Laura Secord Candy Company in Canada. She was of the Christian faith, and has resided in Leesburg for the past six months coming from Middleburg, Virginia. She was strong willed, dynamic, resourceful and had tremendous organizational skills. Mrs. Lapham had lived in Canada, England and loved to travel all over the world. People loved her stories of her travels, such as having “high tea with the Queen or being mistaken as the wife of the shah of Iran”. She is survived by her loving children: Robert Bennett Lapham (Cheryl) of Port St. Joe, FL, John Dudleigh Lapham of Leesburg, FL and Sarita Moffat (George) of Middleburg, VA; a sister: Trudy Coldwell of Simsbury, CT; four grandchildren: Robert, Bennett, Tracy and Janey; seven great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.
