Rose Marie Turcotte's Obituary
Rose Marie Turcotte, 79, Fruitland Park, Florida passed away on September 18, 2017 at Lady Lake Specialty Care Center, Lady Lake, Florida after an extended illness. The oldest of four children, Mrs. Turcotte was born on June 13, 1938 in Lawrence, Massachusetts to her parents Romuald Turcotte and Yvonne (Labelle) Turcotte.
She joined the U.S. Air Force in 1956 as an L.P.N. and served her country for four years before her Honorable Discharge, then again served three years in the U.S. Army Reserves beginning in 1974. In the time between, she had worked in the Hospitality Industry as a Bookkeeper while pursuing the first of her Master’s Degrees from University of Massachusetts.
A member of Mensa, she managed the Lawrence, Massachusetts Chapter newsletter for three years, before moving to NH to pursue her second Master’s degree.
Rose Marie moved to Fruitland Park nine years ago from East Millinocket, Maine. She was of the Catholic Faith and attended St. Paul Catholic Church, Leesburg, Florida when possible.
She enjoyed the challenge and strategy of pinochle, cribbage and scrabble and in her later years enjoyed Bingo. She is survived by her loving daughter: Juanita Lyons of Sterling VA; a brother: Joseph Robert (Linda) Turcotte of Houston, TX; two sisters: Dorothy (Donald) Zyto of Fruitland Park, FL and Claire Turcotte of Leesburg, FL; five grandchildren: Charles Brunelle, III, Kelly G. Hart, Jimmy W. Viles, L. Scott Viles and Jesse Sipina; seventeen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at 2:00PM at Page-Theus Funeral Home Chapel, Leesburg, FL.
