I worked at Disney the same time Ron was running the show as a Watercraft coordinator (supervisor) with the call sign “Watercraft 3”, I personally didn’t know Ron that well, but I do remember his midwestern accent and upon late night closings, he was the coordinator you wanted to have. He didn’t hesitate to start phase closing the operation & getting his guys out of the cold. I just recently heard of his passing now in 2025.
Ron definitely left his print at Disney. The cast members who had the pleasure of working with him have always held Ron with great esteem and respect. He always had a smile on his face. Always had a fun “quote”, one of his infamous catch phrases or questions when he talked to our cast on the phone or on the radio. I will never forget all the stories and all the memories he created for both our guests and our cast. Ron will always be missed. (Who’s on that boat?)
So sad to hear about the passing of Ron. Nothing but happy memories of times with him. Our thoughts and prayers go out for his family & friends. We are making our 1st ever trip to Disney World with our son & and daughter-in-law & 3 grandchildren in the spring of 2023.
All the crazy times Ron and I had working together in Watercraft, from closings on New Years Eves, to all the Grand One charters we did, and who could ever forget the JAT Bowl-a-Thons, memories and laughs that will last 10 lifetimes!
