Ronald Bruce Mauriell's Obituary
Ronald Bruce Mauriell
As water reflects the face, so one's life reflects the heart. Prov. 27:19 NIV
Ronald Bruce Mauriell, 82, of Leesburg, FL, passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025. His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, welcomed him into his Heavenly home. He was healed from Alzheimer's Disease, that had been a physical and mental challenge for many years; however, the disease never diminished the love and kindness Ron had in his heart.
Ron was born in Red Bank, NJ, on August 8, 1943 to his loving parents, Ralph and Doris (Fischer) Mauriell. He grew up in Little Silver, NJ, and graduated from Monmouth University. He joined the Army Reserves after college and stayed with the reserves for eight years. He always had good memories of his times in the reserves. He also started in sales with 3M.
Meanwhile, Ron's parents moved to Florida, and he soon followed their lead, getting a sales position in Boca Raton in the early 70s. While in Boca, Ron got involved in a church and it became clear to him as explained by the apostle Paul in I Corinthians 15:3-4 That Christ died for our sins, that he was buried, and was raised on the third day as foretold in the Scriptures. He was a living Savior that wanted a relationship with people. So, Ron go involved in a Bible Study group and went to church to learn more. He began to understand the full meaning of John 3:16.
Ron also met Theresa at the church he was attending in Boca Raton. They got married and were happily married for 50 years. He always displayed his love to his wife and to his children. He and Theresa lived in Boca Raton for 10 years and then moved to Leesburg, FL.
Ron continued working in sales. He always displayed a good work ethic, a listening ear, and a disarming sense of humor, which helped him in his profession and made him fun to be around.
He was an early riser. He would pray and read a passage from the Bible and then read his morning paper before waking the rest of the family.
As far as fun activities, he got very involved in coaching youth soccer and in watching his sons play school sports. He also loved to walk, every day if possible. He enjoyed shooting baskets in the driveway with the kids. He also took time to play in the pool and joke around with them. His daughter loved to talk to him and try out recipes for him to eat.
As a family, we took advantage of the theme parks in Florida and boating with the kids, his family and friends. Also, we enjoyed some fun trips, especially out West. He had several dogs as pets over the years, and showed tremendous loved for each one.
Later, when the grandkids came along, Ron enjoyed interacting with each of them and making them laugh. His love for each one was very evident.
Ron began his journey with Alzheimer's in 2020. His wife was able to have him home with her for five years. Then he spent several months at Hearthstone, being cared for by staff, who grew to love him. He kept them busy because he still liked walking and was not a person to stay still. He also loved each meal and ate plenty but never put on a pound!
At the end of his life, he was bedridden for about a week. For his last two days on Earth, Ron was blessed with a wonderful nurse. He took extra good care of Ron, talking to him and making funny comments that Ron probably enjoyed.
Ron will be missed and remembered fondly by all who knew him.
Ron is survived by his loving wife, Theresa, his beloved children, Melissa Ann Scales (Chris), Brent Mauriell (Christy), and Jason Mauriell (Tiffany), and five wonderful grandchildren: Nolan, Nathan, Lily, Landon and Noah.
He is now reunited in Heaven with his parents and his brother, R.C., who predeceased him.
