In my starving artist days back in the late 70's in Los Angeles, I happened to meet Roger while showing my drawings and hand knit art garments. Roger was a lovely man who took me under his wing, loved my art and gave me guidance. I will never forget what an incredibly sweet man Roger was, he was a man with a generous spirit, a beautiful smile and kindness. Few people have left the imprint on my life that Roger did, I am deeply appreciative for his humanity. I know Roger is deeply missed by all that loved him, although I have not seen him since the early 80's he has always been there as a positive influence and beautiful light in my life.

Roger has been part of my life since first grade at Lincoln Grade School in Pekin, IL, and all through junior high and high school . Our lives took different paths, mine still here in Pekin, and his all over the world, but we never lost our connection. How happy we were to be together when he did get back to Pekin now and then. It makes me sad and lonesome to know he is no longer on this earth with me.

I was so sorry to hear of Roger's passing. My condolences to his family. He was my neighbor in Simpsonville for many years. I always enjoyed it when we got together. He was a hoot!!

I was very sad to learn of Roger's passing and offer my condolences to his family. I was a classmate (1960) of Roger's at Pekin High school, and we both traveled to Peoria for classes to get confirmed in the Reform synagogue there. I attended the 60th class reunion (belated) last summer and was hoping to see him and was disappointed that he was not there. I think Roger and I were the only Jewish members of our class. We lost touch after high school, but I can still remember his infectious smile and laugh. He will be missed. Rod Challenger.
