Robert Thomas Brown's Obituary
Robert Thomas Brown, 87, Leesburg, Florida passed away at University of Florida Healthcare at Leesburg on January 18th after losing his month-long battle to COVID-19. Born on December 27, 1933 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Robert was the son of the late Dreyton V. Brown and Alice V. Barnhart.
Robert, better known as Bob, later moved with his family to Milford Connecticut where he graduated from Milford High School. He started his career in data processing at Milford Rivet and advanced to Program Manager in charge of the data Processing Department at Johnny Barton Inc. in 1976. Johnny Barton Inc. later became Brescome Barton Inc. where Bob retired in 2004.
He spent 14 years coaching Little League baseball in Milford Connecticut before moving to Meriden Connecticut where he got back into his love of playing golf. He loved to travel with his wife Carol seeing new places and experiencing new things. After retiring in 2004, Bob and Carol moved to Leesburg Florida where he enjoyed the Florida sunshine and playing golf year round.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife Carol Brown of Leesburg Florida, son Jeffrey Brown and wife Charlene of Waldoboro Maine, daughter Laura Brown-Gillman of Warren Maine, son Kevin Brown and wife Heather of Nobleboro Maine, grandson Michael Gillman and wife Haley, granddaughter Jennifer Brown, grandson Paul Brown, grandson Justin Gillman, step grandchildren Rachel Gillman and James Batte, brother Gerald Brown, sister Kathryn Barrett and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was very much loved by his family and will be missed by all who knew him.
The family will be having a Celebration of Bob’s Life at a later date.
