Richard C Wilkinson's Obituary
Richard C. Wilkinson of Leesburg, FL, passed away on August 30, 2022. Richard was born in Philadelphia, PA on July 28, 1941 to his loving parents; William and Dorothy (Chappel) Wilkinson.
Richard was of the Presbytarian faith and was a member of the Fraternal order of Eagles in Okahumpka. Richard devoted 12 years to service in the United States Army, he recieved his Bachelor's degree in Oceanography from the University of Maryland worked as a technician for many years; which gave him the opportunity to travel around the world for work. He visited places like Japan, Norway, Italy, Greece, Greenland, Bahrain, Israel and the Arctic.
In high school, Richard met Margaret (Peggi), but it wasn't until after they graduated in the same class together that they started dating. Richard spent a wonderful 56 years with his beloved wife, and together they enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with family. Richard was also an avid landscaper, and his hobbies included wood carving and fixing clocks.
Richard was very active in his community and will be remembered for his kind and quiet nature, and he always had a smile on his face. He was a dedicated family man and loved spending quality time with his daughter and granddaughter; walking the dog and playing out in the yard.
Richard is survived by his wife, Margaret Wilkinson of Leesburg, FL, his daughter; Dawn Lynn Wilkinson of Panama City, FL, his precious granddaughter Sarah, and a brother; Ronald K. Wilkinson of Bismarck, ND.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother William Wilkinson.
