Richard Collins Wellington's Obituary
Dick was born on New Year’s Eve of 1941 to Barbara and Willard Wellington in Bridgeport, CT. He lived his childhood in Pine Rock Park.
Dick met his lifelong love, Judy, in Stratford, CT in 1957. They wed on August 10, 1963. They reaffirmed their wedding vows in France on August 10, 2014; on their 51st anniversary.
Dick attended Shelton High School and embraced lifelong friendships with his classmates.
Dick is a graduate of Rutgers University (1963) and a member of the Delta Phi Fraternity.
He earned his MBA from Case Western Reserve University in 1965. His entire working career was in Human Resources.
He was a member of the Order of St. John and Saint George Episcopal Church. He loved to golf, travel, collect stamps, drive his Corvette, read and spend time with his family and his dog, Mia.
Dick was preceded in death by his youngest daughter, Jennifer Ann. We take comfort in their heavenly reunion and know they are together and smiling upon us. His is survived by his wife Judy; daughters Sue Essa (Martin) and Cindy Ina (Richard); his sister Barbara Moore (Ray); his five grandchildren Jordan Garcia (Brittany), Matt Ina, Ashley Garcia, Andrew Ina, Brendan Ina; and his great granddaughter, Kinsley Lynn Garcia. A devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and loyal friend; we are blessed by his legacy of humor, laughter, shared moments, treasured memories and unconditional love.
Dick lived his dash with love.
