Richard Ellis Vaughan's Obituary
Richard (Dick) E. Vaughan, age 86, of Soto Road, died peacefully at home on Monday, September 17, 2018, with his loving wife and niece by his side. Dick was born, May 28, 1932, in Springfield, MA, the son of the late Ellis and Dora (Rege) Vaughan. He married Jean Cullen in 1974. He served in the US Army when called to active duty during the Korean War. He was a horse owner and trainer his entire life, retiring from William Haughton Stables. He is survived by his wife, Jean; son Kevin Davis and his wife Pam, of WV; two grandsons, Justin (Brittany) Davis, Shane (Chelsea) Davis; three great grandchildred, Berkley, Reid and Ella; a sister-in-law, Kathleen Cullen, of NY; many nieces and nephews; and his canine friend, Tippy. He was predeceased by his parents; a brother William “Bones” Vaughan; a sister, Estelle Mingo; and brother-in-law, Robert Cullen. Graveside services with military honors will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 10:00AM at Florida National Cemetary, Bushnell. There will be no public calling hours.
