Richard Larry “Rich” Martens of Leesburg, Florida, was called to his heavenly home on May 5, 2026. He was born on April 9, 1938 in Brooklyn, New York, to Edith and Willy Martens.
Rich was known for his well-liked nature and for being loved by everyone he met. He is quoted to say that, "I'm rich but I'm poor".
He spent his years working at West Point Military Academy as Supervisor of grounds where he retired in 1988. In 2007 he moved to Leesburg, Florida from the Hudson Valley, New York.
Richard “Rich” Martens is survived by his loving sons Whitney and Gary Martens, his sister Lorie McClurg, four grandchildren Deverie Hunt, Garrett Martens, Jessica Bowie, Eric Martens and, seven great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his loving parents Edith and Willy Martens, brother Ray Martens, along with man’s best friend his dog Cody.
