Richard Levi Martin's Obituary
Richard Levi Martin passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at the age of 86. He was born on July 20, 1924 in North English, Iowa to the late Glen and Ethel Martin. Richard served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He settled in the Chicago area and worked for the Milwaukee Railroad for over 43 years. Just over 20 years ago Richard moved to The Villages where he was able to play golf on a regular basis. He is survived by his loving wife of over 65 years, Shirley Martin of The Villages, one daughter and son-in-law Charlotte and David Doud, one grand-daughter, Laurel Wendt, and two great-grandchildren Marta and Edward Wendt Jr. as well as two sisters; Mary Hiatt and Ellen Haselhuhn. Funeral services for Mr. Martin will be held on Monday, January 10, 2011 in the Chapel of Christian Faith in The Villages at 1:00 p.m. Friends may call at the church on Monday from Noon until the time of services.
