Richard Samuel Eckman's Obituary
Richard Samuel Eckman, 85, of Leesburg FL, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2023. Richard was born in Chester, PA on May 2, 1937 to his loving parents; Carl and Anna (Friedman) Eckman.
Richard married his beloved wife Janet in October of 1959 in Lenni, PA, and together they moved to Orlando FL in 1979. In the year 2001, Richard and Janet moved to The Plantation in Leesburg. There, Richard became a member of the Plantation Model Railroading Club. Richard loved trains, woodworking, and he also embraced technology.
Richard worked for most of his life as an Aerospace Engineer until his retirement at the age of 59. For several years before his retirement, he and Janet ran a ceramic shop while Richard continued working his full time job. He was also a veteran of the Air National Guard, where he served for over three years. Richard had always been a driven, hardworking, and intelligent man. He was dedicated to his family and raised his children to be independent and pursue their true passions.
Richard is survived by his three children: Richard Mark Eckman and his wife Lala Chambers of Idaho Falls, ID, Linda May Trine and her husband Steve of Keller, TX, and Cynthia Ann Enfinger and her husband Jack of Winter Haven, FL. Richard is also survived by three grandchildren: Eric Trine, Zack Trine, and Jordan Trine, and two precious great grandchildren; Riley Trine and Austin Trine, as well as a brother-in-law, Frank Denaro.
Richard is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years; Janet May Eckman, his loving parents, and three sisters: Carol Cinna, June Eckman, and Barrie Denaro.
A Celebration of Life Service for Richard will take place on Saturday, February 4, 2023 at 10:00 am at Page-Theus Funeral Home.
