Richard W. Almeida Jr.'s Obituary
Richard W. Almeida Jr., 82, of Summerfield, passed away October 12, 2019 in Ocala. Richard was born on August 21, 1937 in Providence, Rhode Island to Richard W. and Rita (Hanson) Almeida. He graduated from St. Raphael’s Academy. He was the owner and operator of a service station and a mechanic for many years. Richard married the love of his life Pauline M. Raiche on May 30, 1962 and she survives him.
Richard was of the Catholic faith, and attended St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in The Villages. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He also restored and refurbished furniture and ran an antique shop with Pauline on Cape Cod, Massachusetts for several years. Richard was a handy man and was able to do many jobs, which his friends and family always appreciated. He moved to Florida permanently three years ago.
Richard is survived by his wife Pauline; son Ric and his wife Deb Almeida of Rhode Island; daughter Lisa and her husband Jack Ronan of Ocala; daughter Patricia and her husband Joseph Lunardelli of Belleview; daughter Lori and her husband Jeff Allen of Avon Connecticut; sister Kathy Beauregard of Miami; grandchildren, Lily, Michala, Brynley, Ric; and great-grandchild Mason.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents and grandson Danny.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Timothy’s Catholic Church in The Villages on October 26, 2019 at 8:30am and internment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Leesburg.
