Raymond William Last
Raymond “Ray” Last age 76 passed away Wednesday,
May 20, 2015 in Leesburg, Florida. Ray was born in West Bend, Wisconsin and moved to the Leesburg area in 2006 from Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin. He owned and operated the Capitol Banquet Hall in Fort Atkinson for over 20 years before retiring to Florida. He was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Leesburg and was a Veteran of the National Guard. He obtained his under graduate and master’s degrees from The University of Wisconsin – Whitewater. During his working years Ray served as President of the Fort Atkinson Jaycee’s and the Rotary Club of Fort Atkinson. He also started “Fort Fest” which featured parades and family activities. Ray loved playing Euchre with his family and friends, designing personalized greeting cards on his computer, traveling and planning family vacations.
Ray had a passion for planes and in high school he built and flew numerous model planes. Eventually his passion for planes led him to obtain his pilot’s license and he took great pleasure spending time in the clouds.
A Mass of Christian Burial is planned for 8:30 AM, Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church with Father John Giel serving as Officiant.
