Ray Edward Garrett's Obituary
Ray Edward Garrett age 72 passed away late Friday, January 13, 2012 at the Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont, Florida. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri and moved to the Leesburg, Florida area in 2003 from Sycamore, Illinois. Ray had a distinguished and varied career in law enforcement working for the Missouri State Police, DeKalb County Sheriff's Dept. in Illinois where he became a detective, and then went on to serve as Chief of Police for Sycamore, and Genoa, Illinois. When he retired to Florida he was Lead Investigator for the Department of Children and Families in Illinois. He was a Mason and a former National Guardsman and attended Ascension Catholic Church in Orlando, Florida. He was a loving husband and father who loved to fish and spend time on the water.Survivors Include: His wife and companion of 25 years Sandy, a Son- Bryan (Cora) Garrett of South Barrington, Illinois; Daughters Tiffany Meadows of DeKalb, Illinois; and Amanda (John) Rifenberg of Winter Garden, Florida; a Sister Rita of Missouri; and 1 grandson- Jackson Rifenberg.The Family suggests that memorial contributions be made to: The Mike Conley Hospice House Fund of Cornerstone Hospice - Cornerstone Hospice is a Hospice at 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778Page-Theus Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been entrusted with all arrangements.
