Paul Scaffidi's Obituary
PAUL SCAFFIDI, at age 92, was called home by his heavenly Father on November 20, 2024 at 4 P.M. He passed very peacefully from the arms of his wife, Mary, and his oldest son, Don. Paul was an indescribably gentle soul who always had a kind word for everyone and was so happy to help anyone in need. He was a beloved husband, father of four adult sons, Don, Tony, Rick, and Mark; grandfather of Paul, Donelle, Angelina, Jade, Dante, Joseph, Michael, Anthony, Gina, Nicole, Shawn, Dominic, & Samantha and great grandfather of Lily, Willie, Charlotte, Gemma, Mila, Mackensie, Chloe, Carter, Angel, Mia, Quinn, & Harper.
As much as Paul enjoyed and adored anyone, he had a very special relationship with his shih-tzu dog, Daih-zih. He said he worked hard to earn her love; he cooked her chicken and enjoyed feeding her as she got older. Daih-zih died when she was seventeen and Paul said she would keep him company when he got to heaven. She will be buried with Paul.
Paul came to America from Brolo, Sicily, Italy with his parents and his two younger brothers, Tom and Joe, in 1947. The family was sponsored into the country by his mother’s brother, Joe Ziino, who lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Paul was just 15 years old. He was tasked with learning our language, getting an education and choosing a vocation. Paul became a professional finish carpenter as he studied architecture and then he started his own business, Scaffidi Builders. He remodeled many beautiful homes along Lake Michigan taking great care to maintain the original style. Paul was sought after because he was a very proud perfectionist; he had the ability to bring his vision to fruition. It is difficult to imagine a world without Paul in it. Paul was loved by all who knew him.
