Patricia Gordineer's Obituary
Patricia (“Pat”) Gordineer of Ocala, Florida, passed away on November 1st, 2025, after an illness. She was born to James and Mary McCann Gordineer and was one of three children. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 61 years, Nathaniel Gordineer, and her brother James Gordineer.
She is survived by her loving family: her four children—Nancy Sewalk of Ocala, FL; Kathy Haviland of Fruitland Park, FL; Roger Gordineer and his wife Joan Marie; and Susan Chron and her husband Michael of Mount Kisco, NY. Patricia was a proud grandmother to Adam, James, Sean, Roger, and Alexis, and a cherished great-grandmother to three precious great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Thomas Gordineer and his wife DJ and several cousins including Peggi Rothwell, whom she had a close relationship.
Patricia graduated from Hendrick Hudson High School and began her career at Reader’s Digest. After the birth of her first child, she devoted herself to being a full-time mother and homemaker—a role she cherished deeply. She had a daycare business for many years, which was a big part of her and each child’s life. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, treasuring every moment together.
Patricia was passionate about sewing and enjoyed crocheting in her spare time. After retiring to The Villages in Lady Lake, FL, she found joy in playing cards, darts, and swimming with “The Pink Saints.” It was during this time that she became an enthusiastic Tampa Bay Rays fan.
Patricia’s kindness, warmth, and devotion to her family will be remembered by all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, https://www.alz.org/, to help find a cure for dementia.
