Panchita 'Chickie' Morrison's Obituary
Panchita “Chickie” Morrison, 84, died peacefully on October 27, 2010 surrounded by her family. She was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on April 4, 1926, the daughter of the late Felix and Alfonsia Rodriguez. She is survived by her husband Ralph Morrison Sr. of Leesburg. Ralph and Chickie married on September 8, 1951 in Missouri, and shared 59 years together. She is also survived by one son Ralph Morrison Jr. and daughter-in-law Elaine Morrison of Leesburg, two daughters; Sharon Morrison and son-in-law John Harrison of Boston, MA, and Deborah Cushine and son-in-law Frank Cushine of Leesburg. She is also survived by a grandson Daniel Morrison and fiance’ Tina Gore of Leesburg, a grand-daughter Mandy Casey and great-grandchildren Gavin and Isabella Casey, all of Eustis, two sisters; Rita Rodriguez and Omega Sanchez, and two brothers; Efrain and Rabon Rodriguez of Puerto Rico. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens with Rev. John Blake officiating. The family has requested memorial contributions in Chickie’s honor be directed toward the Cancer Center at Shand’s Hospital in Gainsville. “And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count.
