Orpha Clara Coward's Obituary
Orpha Clara Coward went home to be with her Lord on May 5, 2026. She was born in Miami on May 2, 1937. She married Charles B. Coward (Charlie) in 1954. Charlie and Clara were flowers farmers, following the Coward tradition passed down to Charlie from his father. They would have five children who were raised in Fort Myers, Florida and Leesburg, Florida.
Clara loved the outdoors, preferring trees and plants to almost anything. Farming came naturally to her. She also loved being a grandmother, great-grandmother and great, great grandmother.
Clara was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Sarah, her husband, Charlie Coward, her sons, Charles Jr. (Buddy)Coward (Idaho) and David Coward (Florida), as well as her brother and his wife Joe and MaryAnn Laudermilt (Florida). She is survived by daughters Pam Gregg (Tennessee), Linda Ford (Florida), and daughter-in-law Anne Coward (Idaho).
In addition to her five children, Clara had 12 grandchildren who she adored, Jordan (Sarah), Shannon, (Bobby) Sean (Shannon), Jarod (Eva), Nathan (Teresa), Levi (Angela), Khaylae (Antavius), Shauncey (Joshua), Miranda (Tim), Matt, Sarah (Ben) and Kade (Haley). She also had 21 great-grandchildren and 3 great, great grandchildren. She had beloved nieces and nephews she thought the world of as well.
If you wish you honor Clara’s memory, nothing would make her happier than planting a tree, shrub or flower to expand the beauty of God’s creation.
