Mikel Swain's Obituary
Mikel Swain, 83, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025, in Oxford, Florida. Born on December 16, 1941, in Toledo, Oregon, Mikel lived a life rich with love, family, and enduring friendships.
Throughout her life, Mikel cherished her family deeply. She was the proud mother of Robert Swain, her oldest son; Carrie Moley, her daughter; and David Swain, her youngest son. Her devotion to her children was matched by the joy she found in being a grandmother—a role she embraced with tremendous pride and affection.
Mikel shared a special bond with her sisters Verdene McGuire and Vicki Ekstrom. Together they created lasting memories filled with laughter and support. She also found profound companionship and happiness with her dear friend and life partner, Sidney Soclof.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Verdon “Cy” McGuire and Thelmarie “Polly” Highland; her brothers Verdon McGuire and Marvin McGuire; and her sisters Arloa Christiansen and Sherryl Thies. Their memories remained close to Mikel’s heart throughout her life.
A funeral service honoring Mikel’s life will be held on May 2, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Page-Theus Funeral Home, located at 914 West Main Street, Leesburg, Florida 34748.
Mikel’s legacy of love and dedication to family will continue to inspire all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort and peace to those whose lives she touched.
