Mickey A. Blackmon's Obituary
Mickey A. Blackmon, 77, of Umatilla, Florida, went to be with the Lord on March 26, 2019 at Leesburg Regional Medical Center in Leesburg, Florida surrounded by her loving family. Mickey was born on June 8, 1941 in Columbia, South Carolina to John Asko and Jessie (Singletary) Asko. She moved to Umatilla, Florida in 1977 from Florence, South Carolina. Mickey was a retired Collections Specialist in the Trucking Industry. Prior to her health declining she enjoyed going to the beach, painting ceramic pieces, and she was an avid reader. She was of the Baptist faith, and she loved nothing more than being with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by four loving children: two daughters, Angela Kalas and her husband Donald of Grand Island, Florida and Melinda Ruhl and her husband Travis of Melbourne, Florida; and two sons, Mitchell Blackmon and his wife Kim of Leesburg, Florida and Michael Blackmon and his wife Kimberley of Ormond, Florida. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Jonathan, Adam, Anthony, Mallory, Mitchell, Madeline, Marcea, Tyler, Kaytlin, Donovan and Dylan. Services will be held at a later date.
