Michael James Hawn's Obituary
Michael “Mikey” J. Hawn passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the age of 51. Mikey was born and raised in Grenloch, New Jersey where he lived until moving to Florida in 2017. The two greatest loves of Mikey’s life were his two pups, Cody, who passed away in 2022 and Blue who will continue to be loved and cared for by family. Cody and Blue showed the true meaning of “Man’s best friend”. Michael truly embraced the Florida lifestyle you could find him fishing, cruising around in his golf cart or sitting at a table playing Texas Hold’em most days.
He was big fan of car shows and drag races as well as a food enthusiast who was always looking for a sweet treat to snack on. Micheal is predeceased by his parents, Ken and Cindy Hawn. He is survived by his big brother Kenny, uncles Bob and Jim, cousins Nadine (Bill), Chrissy (Scott), Nichole, Alyssa, Bobby, Ryan, Steph (Ali), Danielle, Alley (Mike), Jess (Bill), aunts Carol and Margie, cousins Kevin, Bryan, Gerri.
Michael was proud to be “Uncle Michael” to his cousins’ children Aiden, Skylar, Owen, Charlie and newest addition, Ellie who blessed us with her entrance into the world just as Mikey left us. He is also survived by his lifelong best friend Dave.
Although Chrissy and Scott were Mike’s cousins, they treated him like a brother and cared for him every day. Michael was always the life of the party and could get anyone laughing with his unfiltered humor.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Sumter County Animal Shelter https://www.sumtercountyfl.gov/1471/donations . Michael will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the love he gave and the light he brought to the lives around him.
Our family will celebrate Michael’s life in private.
