Melvina Carrie Lamberton's Obituary
Melvina C. Lamberton, 96, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Lady Lake Specialty Care, Lady Lake, FL. She was born on January 10, 1915 in Sturgis, SD to the late Frank and Minnie Keffeler. Melvina graduated from Black Hills Teacher’s College, and was a teacher in the Meade County South Dakota School System for 44 years, retiring in 1980. On January 14, 1942 she married Ralph Lamberton in Sturgis, SD and they resided there until 1985 when they moved to The Villages, FL. She was a parishioner of St. Timothy Catholic Church and enjoyed her retirement years taking care of her home and flowers. She also enjoyed her neighbors, bridge, ceramics and most of all her beloved cat ‘Andy’. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Burton Mariner. Surviving are her son Gary (Kathy) Lamberton of Pompano Beach, FL, grandson Todd Lamberton, three great-grandsons; Lincoln, Grant and Pierce Lamberton all of Newark, DE and her sister Alyce Mariner of Black Hawk, SD. Also survived by four nieces, a nephew and special friends, Sally Ross, Judy Williams and Claudette Reichert. A private family service will be held at a later date.
